I Cor. 15: 57 – “But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Victory will not manifest if vital steps are not taken to bring it to reality. There are things to be done to continuously enjoy the life of victory.
The first demand for victory is CONFIDENCE.
This is the feeling and expression of certainty.
Confidence is the quality of trust in yourself, someone or a thing. It is the quality of your faith in God – knowing for certain that you have victory.
Confidence is born out of assurance – a certainty and surety beyond calculation! It is you not doubting heaven’s capacity to keep, protect and provide for you!
Fighting without confidence is like having a mouth without teeth to bite.
Prov. 28: 1 – “The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Confronting the battles of life without confidence for victory can be tantamount to loss!
Prov. 24: 20 – “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.”
You have to build your faith in the God that you serve!
II Cor. 7: 16 – “I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.”
Anyone that lives a life of confidence end up in rejoicing!
Confidence is the backbone of your life of victory!
Levels of Confidence
Two people are involved in the pact of confidence for victory –
Phil. 4: 13 – “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
- Self-confidence: It is confidence in yourself that is built on God! The kind that makes you unstoppable! Self confidence says I can do!
- Godfidence: It is confidence in the God that strengthens and empowers you to do all things!
Self confidence is good but must be complimented with confidence in God!
Isa. 30: 15 – “For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and you would not.”
In the story of David and Goliath in I Sam. 17, David did not face Goliath with fear, he was confident! Stop facing every day in fear!
Lack of confidence leads to:
- Low self-esteem
- Self-condemnation
Steps to Take for Confidence
- Keeps examining yourself before God.
- Never allow condemnation to erode your confidence.
- Refuse pride but never drop your esteem.
Isa. 46: 10 – “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure…”
The second demand for victory is WARFARE SPIRIT.
Matt. 11: 12 – “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”
Victory is yours but you must fight for it! The warfare spirit is the spirit to combat for what is yours.
Spiritual violence is critical to total victory.
To be gentle in warfare is to be defeated in life. Your level of victory is greatly determined by the violence you input. What you permit, persists.
Warfare Spirit is the aggressive Spirit of a fighter. It is the spirit of never giving up until what you desire is given to you!
Finally, it is important to know that it takes righteousness to partake of this violent spirit in God. You cannot be a lion born if you are not first born again!
The third demand for victory is the WORD OF GOD.
Living a life of victory is impossible without the word of God!
Col. 3: 16 – “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Acts 20: 32 – “And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”
Psa. 119: 11 – “Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
The word of God gives us health, financial, spiritual, material inheritance.
Heb. 4: 12 – “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Prov. 30: 5 – “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them that put their trust in him.”
The word of God is a weapon of victory! The more of God’s word you have in your spirit, the more capacity you have for victory! When you live in the word, the devil cannot defeat you – do not be Word bankrupt!
God’s word is loaded with all forms of weapon to defeat every adversary against your advancement. The victory of a believer is directly proportional to your word intake – how much of God’s word do you take in daily?
In Jesus’ confrontation with the devil in Luke 4, Jesus used the word to defeat him! He kept saying “it is written.”
If you feel you are not living a victorious life now, increase your word intake!
You cannot have faith if the word of God is not in you.
In the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10, while Mary was busy taking in the food of the Spirit – the word; Martha was cumbered with the food of the flesh.
The word of God is the cure for lack and insufficiency. Phil. 4: 19
How to Enforce the Word of God for a Victorious Life
- Study the word of God that speaks of victory. II Tim. 2: 15
- Meditate on the word of God and don’t stop speaking it. If you say it so long, you will soon see it. Joshua 1: 8
- Declare your victory in line with God’s word. Enforce your desires on the happenings around. Do not declare your experience, declare your expectations!
- Confront the adversary with God’s word.
The fourth demand for victory is THE NAME OF JESUS!
Isa. 9: 6 – “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Matt. 1: 21 – “And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Phil. 2: 8-11 – “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross. Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Col. 3: 17 – “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
Psa. 18: 29 – “For by you I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”
Prov. 18: 10 – “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe.”
Jesus’ name does the following:
- It places you above only, because it is the name above every other name. Phil. 2: 8-11
- It saves! Matt. 1: 21
- It empowers our daily lifestyle for continuous victorious living. Col. 3: 17
- It is an overcoming power over evil forces! Psa. 18: 29
- It provides our security and covering. Prov. 18: 10
