Having studied the different ways God can lead you, how then do you position yourself for impartation for divine direction?
How to Position Yourself for Impartation
1. In worship. Isa. 30: 29. If you want to enjoy direction, one of the areas you must position yourself is in the place of God – this is where you give yourself entrance into God and divine direction. To enjoy His leading, be a worshipper.
Worship is an act of reverence and honouring God – it is something that calls for learning because it is an act.
– Worship with a grateful heart. Gratefulness gives you a direct link to Him.
– Worship God in trust. Faith is knowing He has done it; but trust is declaring that even if He does not do what you desire, you still love Him.
– Worship in acknowledgment. Acknowledge that He is the doer, not you!
– Sing and worship in the spirit.
2. In the Word. You must engage yourself in in-depth reading and studying of the word. Psa. 119: 105 the word is lamp for your immediate steps and light for a longer journey. The word gives you immediate direction and direction for longer goals and journeys.
– Have a thirst and hunger in you for the word of God.
– Have a word focus. There are different scriptures for different situations.
– Engage the Holy Spirit in your word search. We are born of and are a product of the word, disengaging from it is like taking fish out of water – the moment you take yourself out of the word, something about you begins to dry up.
One thing that never fails is the word of God. It liveth and abideth forever.
3. In soul winning. It is the act of engaging in practical efforts to win and preserve souls in the kingdom.
There are 4 dimensions to this –
- Practically go after lost souls. Luke 19: 10, Prov. 11: 3
- Inviting them to church for preservation. John 1: 45-46
- Praying and interfering for souls to be edified and sustained in church.
- Committing your finance to establishment of the kingdom.
How to Judge Divine Direction
- Every direction given from heaven will agree with the word of God. If it’s not in the word, don’t do it Until you know that what you’re about to do agrees with His word, don’t do it.
- It must speak peace. Psa. 85: 8
- It must instruct and not condemn. I John 5:3
