The Prosperity Pattern of the Righteous

One of the blessings of the righteous is stability… The Bible says the generation of the righteous shall endure.

God doesn’t want anyone to have a better yesterday, but we must learn and have the heart of a child that can be corrected and redirected.

When the wrong is done for a long time, it becomes the norm.

The prosperity of the kingdom is different from the prosperity of the world. We live in the world but we don’t run by the principles of this world. In this kingdom, godliness with contentment is the answer.

1. Be God’s Acquaintance

God does not prosper those He doesn’t know. He says, without Me you can do nothing.

“Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.” Job 22:21-25 KJV

All of the blessings in these verses start first with ACQUAINT NOW YOURSELF!

The blessings God provides, He protects!

It is your action that determines His reaction, the closer you move to Him, the nearer He becomes to you.

Wealth is not a proof of obedience to God.

Matt. 6: 33 – the prosperity pattern of the kingdom-minded individual is GOD FIRST!

I Kings 3:3 – Solomon loved the Lord and this was why he was greatly blessed and there was no one greater than him until Jesus (vs 12).

2. Choose Righteous Association

Who you follow determines what follows you.

Life is to you in the light of which you see life. The association you keep can become the light through which you see!

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:2‭-‬3

Stop taking eternal counsel from the ungodly.

3. Do Not Cheat/Steal

“Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.” Proverbs 29:24

Your association with a thief/cheat can send you to death and to hell.

“A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.” Proverbs 11:1

“Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it. I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.” Zechariah 5:1‭-‬4

Jacob thought he was smart. But the just God ordered his steps to Laban.

If you think you are smart, life and God will direct you to someone smarter, where you’ll pay for your devious ways.

“Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.” Proverbs 13:11

4. Obedience to Divine Direction

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalms 32:8

“And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.” Isaiah 48:21

When God blesses you, even the stingy will give to you.

Stop doing what your friends are doing, do what God has directed you to do.

Divine direction leads you to peace, it leads you to righteousness and not to sin, it leads you to a company with God, it leads to a path of correction, it leads to a relationship with Jesus as your Lord, not just your Saviour; it leads you to a table of plenty. Read Psalm 23
